Kanda 1/Sukta 15
(Joint Power)
Sindhu Devata, Atharva Rshi
1.
Sam
sam sravantu sindhavah sam våtåh sam patattrinah.
Imam yajnam pradivo me jusantåm samsråvyena haviså juhomi.
Let the streams of water join together, they would
flow together as rivers, let currents of wind blow together, and together they
blow as storms, let birds fly together, and they fly as bird power in unity.
Let brilliant men join this yajna of mine and conduct it together as a joint
power, a nation. I perform this yajna with the oblations of liquid ghrta from
different streams in unison.
(Diversity and unity are two sides of
the same one reality, root and branches of the same one tree. It is the unity
of the seed and the root of the tree which bears and holds and sustains the
diversity of branches and leaves together, it is not the other way round. In
our world, world economy is one yajna, national economies are oblations into
the same one world vedi. One world, one economy, no enemy in the same one
community of humanity. Dream? Distant? Hence the leading performer calls upon
the Pradivah, leading lights of world vision, to join and conduct the yajna.)
